MSG allergy

What is MSG allergy?
MSG is Monosodium Glutamate. It's important to understand that there is a difference between MSG intolerance and MSG allergy. MSG Allergy, or hypersentivity, is an abnormal response to MSG that is triggered by the immune system. The immune system is not responsible for the symptoms of MSG intolerance, even though these symptoms can resemble those of a food allergy. Sensitivities to MSG are sometimes attributed to the free glutamic acid component.
